Course describes the prerequisites and knowledge required for a pipeline worker to successfully install steel pipe using horizontal directional drilling (HDD). It addresses the conditions and safety concerns of working on an installation site with HDD, pipe handling considerations, safety equipment, installation tools and equipment, inspection and installation procedures, and the abnormal operating conditions (AOCs) that may occur during the installation.
