This course describes the prerequisites and knowledge required for a pipeline worker to monitor atmospheric conditions to allow the safe performance of hot work operations. It provides an overview of potential hot work hazards, implementing fire watch procedures, the characteristics of atmospheric gases and pipeline products, various analyzer types and air movers, and the abnormal operating conditions (AOCs) that may occur when performing this task.
